Finance 1 Case Scenario Last weekend, your uncle had phoned you asking for some advice. He knew that you are currently taking a finance class with NorQuest College. His mom, your grandma had recently passed away due to natural causes at the age of 101. Your grandma had left your uncle with a large sum of money as he was her primary caretaker. Your uncle has never invested in stocks before, but is interested in doing so. He'd like to have an understanding of some basic concepts before going to a certified financial planner. He is in particular interested in the type of analysis a fund manager might complete before selecting an investment Select a publicly traded company that you believe is performing well. Each group will be choosing an unique company on the Group Sign-up Sheet by September 30, 2020. There will be no duplicates of companies chosen. You will need to pull up the financial statements for the chosen company. The financial statements are located on the company website, usually located in the Investor section and called the Annual Report. The financial statements in this report and located right before the Notes to the Financial Statements. Using the financial statements, complete the following: a) your own words, briefly explain what this company does. (2 marks) b) Analyze the cash flow statement. For each section (ie, operating, investing and financing section), indicate whether each section is positive or negative. What does each section tell us about this company?
