Over a period of six months, the NSW Teachers Federation undertook three rounds of strike action. These occurred on 7 December 2021, 4 May 2022 and 30 June 2022. This was despite an order from the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) in November 2021 which prohibited the union from engaging in planned strike action in December and any further protests until 31 May 2022. The union was ultimately fined over the 4 May 2022 strike.
