Over the last eight years NASA has spent $200 million developing new space suits. The suits are nowhere near ready despite a looming deadline - the retirement of the International Space Station in 2024. Auditors are reporting that none of the three projects NASA has in development for the new suits has a clear roadmap. One project in support of the Constellation Program continued into 2016 despite the program being cancelled in 2010.
