Overview:

In the world of product management, the team you assemble can make or break the success of your product. In this assignment, you'll have the unique opportunity to dream big and assemble your ideal product team from any individual in history, whether they're living or have passed. Your first task is to conceptualize a groundbreaking product idea. Once you've defined your product, you'll identify key roles essential to bringing your product vision to life and then select historical figures best suited for each role.

Instructions:

1. Product Ideation:
   • Think of a novel product idea, either physical or software-based. Ensure it's innovative, addresses a genuine need, and is a feasible business proposition.
   • Your product should be grounded in reality (e.g., an advanced rocket is acceptable, but teleportation might be pushing it).
   • Describe the product in detail. This can be through words, wireframes, or diagrams. Ensure you identify a user persona, the specific need it addresses, and a comprehensive product description.
   • Assume this product is the flagship offering of your new startup, which has secured venture capital funding. As such, resources and budget aren't constraints. You'll be stepping into the shoes of the Product Manager, with an experienced CEO already onboard.
2. Role Selection:
   • From the list of available roles - Engineer, Product Designer, Product Marketer, Salesperson, UX Researcher, and Data Analyst - select three that you believe are crucial for your product's success.
   • Justify your selection. Why is this combination ideal for your product? Remember, you can opt for multiple individuals in the same role if necessary (e.g., three Engineers and no Salesperson).
3. Historical Or Present Figure Selection:
   • For each role you've chosen, select a historical or present figure to fill the position. This can be a famous person, or someone you worked with in the past.
   • Provide a brief biography of the individual and articulate why they're the perfect fit for the role, how they'd contribute to the company, and why they'd be a great collaborator with you.
   • Your selections don't need to have historically worked in the roles you've assigned them. For instance, Thomas Edison might be your Engineer pick due to his relentless work ethic, or Steve Jobs could be your Product Marketer given his product launch prowess.
   • When describing your chosen figures, assume the professor isn't familiar with them. Highlight their achievements and characteristics succinctly.
