Overview

Scenario:

A new major international airport is being built. You have joined with a few others to form a transportation project team. This new international airport codenamed NBW Airport for NBW City. It will have the most sophisticated passenger transportation system incorporating the latest technologies.

High Speed Track for AirTrains have been built connecting six major population centres. These points are more than just stations.

Here are some features:

1)Some stations have baggage handling (baggage drop) capability. This means that passengers can check in baggage at these stations for their flight. There is no need to carry your check in baggage onto the train.

2)Stations further away have meal and refreshment kitchen facilities.

3)Each train can take 200 passengers. All passengers must be seated. Trains to each destination can depart from airport every 10 minutes and return at the same rate. [Scheduling is "out of project scope".]

4)Flights are arriving and departing at a steady rate 24/7. [Scheduling is "out of project scope".]

For all routes:

AirTrain is the epitome of transport convenience for travellers to NBW Airport. When you board the AirTrain in all stations heading to the airport, every passenger (including child) must occupy a seat. Any seat can be converted into a child seat or to accommodate a wheelchair. No standing is permitted. As the train is travelling, the passenger will check in for the flight using a terminal in front of the seat. The passenger will also scan passport details for immigration purposes and an in-built camera will capture photographic details for the trip. This may be a photo, video for facial recognition, finger print, visa document or passport. A boarding slip is printed from the unit. The train arrives at the Departure Hall, the passenger scans his boarding slip and proceeds to the respective aircraft gate. There are immigration, security and check-in officials present in every train carriage to assist passengers. If a passenger cannot check in, the passenger will be manually checked-in and cleared by the officials on the train.
