• Overview: what is this thing, what do you do with it? (don't assume everyone knows)
• Material Origins: what is it made out of, where do those materials come from (physically, geographically, etc)
• Production: where and how does this get put together into the thing as we know it?
• Use: what other resources are needed to use this thing and/or what resources does the commodity itself use?
• Disposal: how does a thing get used up, what do you do with it when you're done, and what kinds of waste does it produce?

A judgment: what did you learn about thisare you pleased with the commodity origins you uncovered, or weirded out? are there alternatives that might do the same thing better
