Pappy Ordinateur, Inc. (Pappy) is a computer developer and has developed a laptop that does not require to be plugged in. The battery is charged by an alternator, similar to cranking the battery. Pappy is extremely proud, but once it tries to sell the laptop it developed, it receives a letter from attorneys for Hueypacker Hardware Co. (Hueypacker). The letter demonstrates conclusively that Pappy is infringing on Hueypacker's registered intellectual property, and the attorneys demand that Pappy immediately cease selling its laptop. Because Pappy has already completed so much work, it decides to continue selling the laptop. Hueypacker files suit. A court will likely rule that: Pappy must stop selling despite having created the product without knowing of Hueypacker's invention. Pappy may sell the computer because it developed its laptop independently. Pappy may sell the computer because Hueypacker did not advertise its own laptop. Pappy cannot sell its computer because its computer's design is infringing on Hueypacker's copyright. Pappy must stop selling because of the adoption of moral rights
