A score of 0.25 or higher indicates a good question. Distractors and wrong answers will earn a negative number, a score less than 0.2 indicates a revision is needed (Billings & Halstead, 2020). An exam generally has a varying range of difficulty. Billings & Halstead (2020), states that exam items falling between a score of 0.70 to 0.80 are preferred for a consistent range. This score is calculated by dividing the number of students in the class by the number of students that answered each item correctly. This is done for every question. Scores less than 30% are interpreted as very difficult questions while scores of 80% or higher are interpreted as very easy questions
