Parents took their 13-year-old daughter to the family physician for treatment of a foot infection. He advised the parents that she should stay at home in bed and that they should ask the school for a home teacher. The form the physician signed that went to the superintendent of the school incorrectly stated that the girl was pregnant. The child's parents requested that the physician change the report, but he told them that he had checked his files and found nothing that would indicate that he had made such a report. He also told them that if they brought the report to his office, he would do what he could to correct any error if he had made one. The school would not release the report. The parents continually called the physician. The office told the parents to stop bothering the physician about the matter and that he would not call the school.
