Part 1}

Generate an idea

You must come up with an idea or a problem to solve the problem will be marked on quality, the problem must be large enough to constitute some kind of program or app to help with the solution but it cannot be either to common or already comprehensively covered.

Here are the few guide lines:-

Your idea should not be computer/IT related.

You should approach your idea in a way that represents a normal non-technical person.

Find someone who is not in IT to ask about a problem they have in work or personal life they wish there was an easy way to solve.

You must write up your idea, you an use diagrams, you can use drawings if you want. You only have one page. To do so, get to the point 150 words or roughly a diagram might help. Or a full page of text.

Logical flow of question

Use simple language

Avoid double negatives.

Used balanced rating skills

Use ordinal ordering correctly (Most, Least or Least Most)

Think about the order of questions

Related questions should be together.

Create 3-5 categories of questions: demographics, lifestyle, specific behaviors, identifying specific motivations, specific user preferences, use of existing competitors.

{Part 2}

User Research

For your idea that you must do some research into the feasibility and the general reception of your idea and some research aroud the potential users and customers. You will at this point need to be looking at the idea or problem/solution in general from a "birds eye view" you will have to present your idea in a way that is descriptive enough that the person understands what you are trying to help with. You should read the resources to properly frame your questions and in order not to introduce any bias or pre-requisite knowledge into your research. You must use atleast two of the research methods below you may not use surveys and questionnaire together.

Structure of files:- One idea.pdf file which contains the write up of your idea, maximum two pages.

and one research.pdf filw that contains a write up of your research artifacts.

Maximum of 5 pages (data/ # Folder containing the raw data from part)

Assesment

Part #1 - Write up your idea, using a problem/solution scenario, provide a brief description of your idea and why it is compelling and why you would want to use the product

Part #2 - Minimum requirements are met, thorough research has been done and the quality and expression of the idea is a good fit for a project that can be used throughout this class

Above the general requirements of the assignment, the Quality of your submission exceeds my expectations, the research is in depth, focused and concise. Your idea is exceptional in terms of identifying the problem and user needs, your research reflects this, you are able to substantiate your idea as well as provide a thorough analysis and viability according to your research.
