Per the Public Health Foundation, theCore Competencies for Public Health Professionals represent desirable professional skill sets. These competencies offer a starting point for identifying professional development needs and developing training plans. From theCore Competencies for Public Health Professionals webpage, download the2021 competencies.
Find the domains on page 3. Of these domains, identify TWO you would like to develop further via future professional development. For those two domains, identify which specific competencies and sub-competencies you would like to focus on during that professional development. To be realistic, I recommend focusing on 3-5 competencies and then 3-5 sub-competencies within each of your selected competencies. You will find the competencies on pages 5-8, an explanation about "tiers" on page 9, and the sub-competencies on the many pages that follow.
