Part 1: Who has more cell phone use--8th graders or 10th graders?

There are often many right methods, and credit will be given not only based on having a correct answer but also on how you explain your answer. Every answer should be in complete sentences. Your answers to #2 and #3 should include a lot of detail.

1. What is/are the population(s), and what parameter(s) will you be measuring?

2. How will you choose the sample(s)? (Include very specific details on this one please. Just naming a sampling method will receive no credit, describe how you will use it and why it gave a more representative sample than other methods)

3. What is the process you will use to gather the information? Think about how you will minimize bias in this process.

4. Describe how you would display the data--we saw a lot of different data displays in Unit 1.

5. Describe what conclusions you could possibly reach based on your survey results.

2. What are the factor levels and the treatments? (You get to choose! But explain why you'd choose those levels)

3. What are the experimental units, how will you obtain/find them?

4. Explain how you will use the 4 principles of experimental design. (Control, Replicate, Randomly Assign, Block)

5. Draw a diagram of your experimental design.

6. Describe all details so that another researcher can replicate your experiment. These should be very thorough.

7. Describe how you will measure the response variable.

8. Describe how you would display the data--we saw a lot of different data displays in Unit 1.

9. Describe what conclusions you might be able to draw from the experiment.
