The research relates to my own personal experience and identity in the sense that it highlights the importance of cultural and religiousuniqueness out of instinctto create effective communication and relationships with people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. In my own life, I have experienced the benefits of being culturally and religiously aware and have learned the value of actively seeking out intercultural and interfaith communication opportunities in order to develop greater knowledge and grow as an individual.

How does the IC research you examined relate to the course concepts/themes?

The research relates to course concepts and themes related to intercultural communication, including cultural identity, cultural competence, cultural intelligence, cultural relativism, and globalization. It relates accurately to themes related to religion and its role in shaping cultural identity and shaping intercultural communication. It highlights the significance of these concepts in facilitating understanding and cooperation between people from different cultural and religious backgrounds.

How might the IC research you examined be expanded to different disciplines, areas, or contexts? How might this research inform future civic engagement or social justice?

The research could be expanded to different disciplines by examining the role of intercultural and interfaith communication in fields such as education, healthcare, and business, for example. It could also be expanded to different contexts, such as cross-cultural communication within organizations or between nations. In terms of civic integration and social justice, the research suggests that intercultural and interfaith communication can be strong tools for advocating an understanding and cooperation between different cultures and religions, which could inform future efforts towards social justice and positive social change.
