Permanent full-time HR Assistant

Company X, a rapidly growing and fast-paced logistics company based in East Midlands, is looking for an energetic and ambitious graduate seeking to develop their generalist HR skills and pursue a career in HR. No previous HR experience is required, but support for career growth and development (including sponsoring CIPD membership) will be provided subject to successful probation. If you are proactive, resourceful and ready to work to tight deadlines and to contribute with new ideas to efficient and professional delivery of HR processes, this could be the job for you.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Being first point of contact for HR and recruitment-related queries
  • Contributing to a wide range of recruitment and selection processes from placing job ads, coordinating selection interviews and communicating with job applicants
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, including immigrations legislation and conducting reference checks during the recruitment process
  • Providing support with induction and onboarding of new staff
  • Providing support to monitoring of staff performance appraisals
  • Responding to internal staff queries on sick absence, annual, maternity or paternity leave
  • Maintaining and updating employee records and other HR-related data

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or recruitment role in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Demonstrable interest in career in HR
  • Own transport and a full-clean driving licence to be able to travel to hub office at least once a week
  • Excellent communications skills, including writing emails and responding to queries by telephone
  • Business acumen and ability to work independently

Desirable:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Some knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Desire to work towards CIPD qualification

If you are successful for the position of Support Worker, you will receive a full local and corporate induction, and attain a level 3 certificate in 'Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care'. On completion of your probationary period, you will automatically be enrolled onto the NVQ level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care. You will have access to ongoing professional development from our training offices in London and Reading, and the opportunity to discuss your training and development needs during regular supervision and appraisal meetings.

You will be required to work in a flexible manner on a roster basis, which will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins according to the needs of our Barnet service.Previous experience, whilst desirable, is not necessary - what we need most from you is gumption and a can-do attitude.
