Part 3 (due Module 6): Once you complete Parts 1 and 2, you will individually submit a two (2) page narrative critically analyzing the hospital outcomes with the industry standards, including key insights and interpretations gained from the benchmark analysis. Additionally, as part of the narrative you must develop 1-2 strategic goals/initiatives for both hospitals that take advantage of their strengths, address their shortcomings, build on opportunities, and attempt to minimize environmental threats. Though you dont have space to address all of these, consider the business, demographic, ethnocultural, political, and regulatory implications of decisions and develop strategies that continually improve the long-term success and viability of the hospitals. Do NOT summarize your benchmarks metrics from the table, and do NOT define or summarize what a benchmark is. Conduct an in-depth critical analysis of your benchmark results and make connections within the data/outcomes. You do not have sufficient space to address ALL the items in the benchmark analysis. Thus, focus on the key insights gained from the related analysis, any implications, and strategic initiatives/goals for your hospitals. The narrative should be double spaced, 12pt font, and include references to relevant literature supporting your claim(s). Your assignment should have three sections: 1.) the narrative; 2.) a reference section (i.e., peer review, trade, or professional articles supporting your analysis); and 3.) an appendix with the relevant data visualization(s) (i.e., your comprehensive benchmark table). Use the templates provided below to complete all three parts of the benchmark assignment. All writing and data visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, tables) should follow proper APA formatting guidelines, as appropriate. Some questions to consider for your narrative (you dont have to answer all these questions): Which hospital appears to have better outcomes? Why do you think? What do these outcomes mean? What are the implications for the hospitals? How would the benchmark(s) impact operations, financials, and/or quality? Do you see some connections between some benchmarks? Do internal/external factors (e.g., rural vs. urban, bed count large vs. small hospitals, private vs. public, etc.) impact benchmark performance? If so, which internal/external factor appears to have the most significant effect? Are there any benchmarks you may have missed or that you would have liked to include after evaluating these 25 metrics?
