PART B: Essay (30 points; approx. 500 words) Write an essay on ONE of the topics below. Your essay should present a well- supported argument that discusses TWO satiric texts from our course (Wall- E, Fake News, and required clips count as texts); but NOT those Discussed in your Final Essay if you chose course texts) There will be three topics to choose from. The topics will focus on general ideas/themes/techniques that we have been discussing throughout the course. For example, during your review, pay attention to: Satire's role as a form of socio-cultural criticism and protest; terms such as the grotesque, or defamiliarization, eternal targets of satire (materialism, hypocrisy, lack of empathy, the American dream, etc.) I 4
