Part D: Contribute to project continuous improvement process
Quality assurance audit preparation
- As a project manager you sometimes need to conduct a quality audit whem matters do not go to plan. Prepare to conduct such a project audit looking into the project's outcomes and delivearables as well as to review its processes. The audit should seek to measure the effectiveness of quality assurance/control tools, methods, and techniques used. It should also identify any opportunities for continuous improvement.
Start by developing your audit questions. These are the questions that you hope your review will answer. The questions should be relevant to the overall objectives of your system. The following are some examples of audit questions:
- Did the quality assurance/control measures used identify variations in the product or service?
- Have any issues arisen?
- Are employees aware of the quality requirements?
- Are quality procedures being followed?
You should have at least five (5) questions relating to the quality procedures.
- Next, draw a flow chart showing the audit process. This process should explain how you intend to answer your audit questions. Include the types of evidence you will review. You should also include a brief explanation of your sample size. Remember to include consultation with the key stakeholders.
