Part I. (16 points) Do good looks affect grades on human graded essays? Researchers wanted to know whether a student's appearance had an effect on scores of an essay. The halo3.csv file contains a subset of this data which includes scores on essays and an indicator of whether the student was Attractive, Control (Neither Attractive nor Unattractive), and Unattractive. From an independent observer, all of the essays are considered to be good quality essays. This data comes from a randomized experiment.

Is there evidence the average essay scores are different among the attractiveness groups?

Use a significance level of 0.05.

Upload the data set, then follow the example R code from lessons 32 and 33, or from the week 6 module R for Single Factor ANOVA and Multiple Comparisons of Means, and/or the example R tutorials to complete the following parts with software.

a.(1 point) Create side-by-side boxplot of the data and add color and a title to your plot. Paste your plot.

b.(2 point) From the side-by-side box plot, does there look to be a difference in the average essay scores are different among the attractiveness groups? Explain your reasoning.

c.(1 point) State the appropriate null and alternative hypothesis for the Single Factor ANOVA F test.

d.(2 points) State the conditions for the Single Factor ANOVA F Test. Is it reasonable to seem that these conditions are satisfied? If not, still proceed.

e.Perform the Single Factor ANOVA F test in R. Use the F statistic and p-value from the ANOVA table to state whether there is a significant difference between at least two of the attractiveness group means.

a.(1 point) Paste R output.

b.(1 point) Include a statement in regards to your significance level.

c.(2 points) Include a statement in terms of the strength of evidence in terms of the alternative. Include context.

f.Using the Tukey's Multiple Comparison procedure output. Are there any individual comparisons that are significant at the 0.05 significance level?

a.(1 point) Paste R output.

b.(2 points) List all comparisons that are significant (or state those that are not).

c.(3 points) Interpret the 95% F-W confidence interval for the difference between the average essay scores among the Attractive group and the Unattractive group.

g.(Not Graded) In general, how does this outcome make you feel?
