Part I: Create Your Game! During this project you will create your very own game that involves probability somehow! Perhaps players will have to draw cards from a shuffled deck, roll a die, spin a wheel, pick marbles from a bag, or spin a bottle to see which way it will point! It's entirely up to you! Once you've figured out your game idea and you've made the rules and gathered or constructed the materials, you will: get the chance to test it out it (play it!) explain the probabilities involved in a player's turn and discuss potential winning strategies Who knows, your game could become a new favourite for family game night! While you're thinking about the creation of your own game, it might be helpful to think about the first card games or board games that come to your mind. What elements do these games have? Is it mostly luck? Is it 100% strategy? Most likely there's a good balance of each, involving some luck but also a bit of strategizing and thinking a few turns in advance. - Your game must involve some amount of both luck and strategy. Also, a fun game is one where the unexpected might happen, such as a losing player all of a sudden comes from behind to win at the last turn! Try not to make your game exactly like another game you know. However, you can take elements of other games that you enjoy and use them in yours if you'd like Note that at the end of the project, you will create a Game Instructions document laying out the rules and strategies and probabilities involved. So while you're doing this project, you should keep notes to yourself about any of the above. Okay, it's time to get thinking! What is your Winning Game idea?! Have fun!The Name Of The Game Pr Answer the following questions: a. What's the name of your game? b. What's the basic idea? c. What is the objective of the game? (i.e. How does a player win?) Reference Q.40000 2 The Basic Rules Of The Game Pr A big part of creating a game is writing the rules. Please answer the following questions about the rules: a. What is the initial set-up of the game? (How many cards are dealt? Or do players start with any cards at all?) b. What does a player's turn consist of? (Merely summarize here. You will give detailed instructions later . ) Retrance Q.47272Build Your Game Pr Once you have a good understanding of how your game works, actually make it! Build the parts that you need to. If you need to make a board for a board game or special cards, dice, a spinner to use during gameplay, you can make and/or gather those materials now. If the game is playable, you can move onto the next step of the project. Pr Once you have your game built, lay it out nicely on a table or the floor and take a picture of it and upload that here. Retrence Q47205 Part II: Test Your Game Pr You probably guessed it already, but now that you've made your game, it's time to test it out with a friend, a family member, or a classmate! While you do this: jot down new ideas for the game; ask your opponent, the person you're teaching the game to, for feedback on your game as you go ask if there are things you can improve on to make the game better Once you've feel that the gameplay is fair and complete from start to finish, answer the questions below.Player Feedback Pr Now that you've actually tested (played) your game, answer the following questions: a. Is your game fun? Why or Why not? b. What didn't work with the game initially? How did you fix it? c. Was there anything that your opponent (friend, family, or classmate) suggested that made the game more fun? Did the feedback help you make the game better? d. Do you think it would be beneficial to play the game with someone else and get their feedback as well? Retrence Q 47205 Time spent1 sec Part III: Probabilities Pr Now you will be analyzing the probabilities of the game. Where does probability/chance/luck come into it?!5 What Are The Chances? Pr a. First, find all of the situations where probability is involved in a single turn and write them down. b. For each of the situations in a), determine the 'sample space." c. For each of the situations in a), calculate the probabilities of each "event." Be DETAILED, showing your calculations. Note: Since every game is different, there may not be any calculable probability inherent in a turn without first stating a specific situation. In that case, create 3 hypothetical situations and determine the probability of the ideal result on a turn. Reference Q4727 Time spenty sec Part IV: Strategy Pr Now that you've figured out some probabilities - that is, the part(s) of the game that might be out of your control - you can think critically about the part(s) of the game that might be in your control - the strategy. Whether these strategies are fairly obvious or are more subtle, trying to trick your opponent, say, the ultimate objective of any game strategy is to win the game. With that in mind, answer the following question about the strategy involved in your game!Strategy Pr List at least 3 different examples of strategy that a player can use to help them win the game. If a strategy is luck-based, describe how it will help sway probability in your favour. If a strategy relies on another aspect (mental, or otherwise), describe why it would work.
