Part I: Design a circuit and a chip called $$Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip$$

$1.$ Insider the Project $2$ folder, but outside all other project folders, use Quartus II to create a

folder and a project called, Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip.

$2.$ In the Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip project, import the schematics from the project, Test$\_7$Seg by

using the function: $$Add$/$Remove files in Project...$.$

$3.$ Go to File$->$Save as$$ to save the imported file: make sure the folder is the

Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip, and file name is Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip.

$4.$ Use the function: $$Add$/$Remove files in Project...$$ to remove the imported files.

$5.$ Your circuit should have two inputs: On and Clock, and seven outputs: A$0,$ B$0,$ C$0,$ D$0,$ E$0,$

F$0,$ G$0.$

$6.$ Import all necessary files.

$7.$ Save the project, and compile the project.

$8.$ Create a chip $($block symbol$)$ for this circuit with two inputs On and Clock, and seven

outputs A$0,$ B$0,$ C$0,$ D$0,$ E$0,$ F$0,$ G$0.$

$9.$ Save the project, and compile the project.

Part II: Create a test driver to use the OneHz$\_$Clock to drive the chip $$Police$\_$Alert$\_$Chip$$

$10.$ Insider the Project $2$ folder, but outside all other project folders, use Quartus II to create a

folder and a project called, Test$\_$PA$\_$Chip.

$11.$ Inside the Test$\_$PA$\_$Chip project, use the OneHz$\_$Clock chip to drive the Polce$\_$Alert$\_$Chip.

Your circuit should have two inputs: On and Clock, and seven outputs: A$0,$ B$0,...,$ G$0.$

$12.$ Import all necessary files.

$13.$ Save the project, and compile the project.

$14.$ Assign PIN$\_$J$6($SW$0)$ to the On input; assign PIN$\_$G$21($on board clock$)$ to the Clock input.

Assign PIN$\_$E$11,$ PIN$\_$F$11,$ PIN$\_$H$12,$ PIN$\_$H$13,$ PIN$\_$G$12,$ PIN$\_$F$12,$ PIN$\_$F$13$ to the outputs

A$0,$ B$0,$ C$0,$ D$0,$ E$0,$ F$0,$ G$0.$

$15.$ Save the project, and compile the project.

$16.$ Download your design to the DE$0$ board.

$17.$ Test your design and fix any errors.

$18.$ When successful, ask your instructor to check your work.
