POST 1 -
Group decision-making and individual decision-making have their own advantages and are suitable for different situations. Group decision-making is beneficial when there is a need for diverse expertise, collaboration, and stakeholder involvement. It allows for comprehensive analysis, fosters creativity, and ensures representation. On the other hand, individual decision-making is preferable when time is limited, specialized expertise is required, or personal preferences and discretion are crucial. The choice between the two approaches should consider factors such as problem complexity, available expertise, time constraints, stakeholder involvement, and the level of collaboration needed. Employing a balanced approach that combines both methods can be effective in various scenarios.

POST 2 -
Individual decision making can be used in situations that need an immediate response that can be temporary if needed, or when your best judgement can be used. In small issues that need to be dealt with quickly this is when individual decisions can and should be made. As an example, I work at a cafe that frequently has rushes where everyone is busy working on a specific part, and one cannot afford to stop everything to consult someone on a minor decision that should be made. In this moment, using your best judgement is more effective to keep things moving along than the waste that would be caused to stop everything going on to deal with a small issue. In more high profile decisions that could affect many people or be costly to the organization, one should apply group decision making as this could benefit from different viewpoints or comments.
