1. Your client has an offer from a buyer in Afghanistan to purchase 500 laptops. What payment mechanism would you advise your client to require?
2. The same client has a purchase offer from a buyer in France to purchase 100 laptops. This is the first time your client has dealt with the French buyer. The buyer would like to purchase on open account. What payment mechanism would you recommend to your client?
3. You r client has sold 400 laptops to a buyer in Iceland using the payment mechanism of documentary collection. The goods were shipped to Iceland. However, the buyer never showed up, and the Iceland Bank has evidence that the buyer may be bankrupt. What would you advise your client to do next?
4. The same client has received from the bank a letter of credit as the payment mechanism for the purchase of 300 laptops by a foreign buyer, as agreed by the parties. The buyer, however, would like the client to ship the goods using a straight (non-negotiable) bill of lading. How do you advise your client?
