Question
A battery with a nominal voltage of 36V (input range 39.8V to 29.2V is used to supply an 18V load with a current of 1A.
A battery with a nominal voltage of 36V (input range 39.8V to 29.2V is used to supply an 18V load with a current of 1A. Design a DC-DC converter circuit using a transistor, diode, inductor (147uH) and a capacitor (470uF). The switching frequency is 33kHz.
(a) Draw the circuit design.
(b) Calculate the approximate duty cycles if continuous conduction mode is achieved.
(c) What is the minimum inductance to keep the converter in continuous conduction mode.
(d) Calculate the output ripple voltage with this load.
(e) Calculate the minimum and maximum on-time for the transistor
Could this circuit be used for a 32V load?
