Performing a Quality Systems Audit You have been requested to perform a quality systems audit of the Acme Electronics Company. The company is currently ISO 9001:2008 certified, but they are looking to either get ISO 9001:2015 certified or go for the Baldrige award. You have been ask to perform a Gap analysis to determine how they are doing against one of the two standards (you select which one you wish to use as a standard). Section I 1. What steps will you take prior to performing the actual audit? Section II You learn that the company's quality manager will be accompany you as you perform the audit, is this acceptable? Why or why not? Section III As you perform the audit, you notice the following: Shipping area 1. An outbound carton with obvious damage was examined by the auditor on the shipping dock. 2. A shipment of six (6) boxes to Allied Supply was returned because the customer-required certifications did not accompany the product. 3. Unsigned product verification documents were found on stored products. 4. Of three (3) cartons found in the accepted materials station, only two of the cartons had labels indicating their contents. Production area 1. Two of the five gauges used in the area have calibration tags that have expired. 2. A bottle of solution is not labeled. 3. There are test procedures, blue prints and specifications laying on the work station, but the employees are on break. 4. You examine the work orders and notice all are signed and dated two days earlier. What would you do with the information above? Section IV What would you do at the completion of your Quality Audit?
