Many accidents are caused by the misuse of cellphones while operating a motor vehicle. According to Distracted Driving Statistics by Taylor Covington Feb9, 2021 " nearly 3100 people in the U.S. were killed in crashes caused by Cell phone distraction, and thousands more were injured or disabled for life."Furthermore, A study released by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute on Jan 4, 2021 showed that people who text while driving have a 23 times greater risk of being in an accident. The use of cell phones may result in a driver's slower reaction while breaking or regaining speed. It may cause accidents but it may be a coincidence with some other action. So, the use of cell phone is not desirable because it involves a driver in a multi-task activity while driving. That's why if we care about roads safety, we must stand together to alter the laws.

Satisfaction: As long as the current laws are not strict about the use of electronic devices while driving which made people indifferent about them. According to cellphone and texting tickets in NY by Adam Rosenblum, "A cell phone tickets in NY state cost 50 to 150$ for a first offense, a second offense within 18 months 50 to 200$, a third offense within 18 months 50 to 400$ published Jan 25,2021.These fines are not enough to scare and let people stop the use of cellphones. Our solution for getting a safety road is to contact the state of legislature, and sign petitions to protest in order to change the law of distraction while driving. The government need to increase the fines and penalties to up to 10000$ and suspend the driving silences for 3 months in the first offense, and in the second offense within 6 months to 5000$ and one year in jail. We should all be one hand to obtain our rights and pass this law because we're all in the same boat.

Visualization: According to recent research, a driver talking over a cell phone is four times more endangered to collide with another vehicle than a driver who does not use a cell phone while driving. Imagine what could happen if that law implement. People will be more alert about it, and they will definitely turn their phones off, or activate the "Do not disturb" app before they start the car engine because no one can risk to pay that money or end up in jail. In fact, the car accidents caused by phone distraction will decrease to 0%

Action: To sum up, using the phone while driving can be fatal, but enforcing or modifying the laws of phone distraction while driving might change people's behaviors about this dangerous act. Last but not least for today, let's all go to teens against distracted driving and sign a pledge for not using the phone and drive, and sign this petition to our voice be heard by the state of legislatures. Finally, remember if we want a successful change, we must start by ourselves.
