Peter, who was said to be overspeeding and without a helmet, met with an accident when riding his motorcycle along HW 29, in Wisconsin, because of a pothole. His leg was injured and had to be amputated. He could not go to work for 3 months and has now to make a lot of adjustments as to his lifestyle. He decides to sue the contractor and the department responsible for building roads for the harm caused to him. Obviously, the contractor and the department decided to defend the suit, claiming they should not be held liable for Peter's misfortune.
