Phil was 8 months post-onset (after stroke) and entered a 6- week program. He and his lovely wife had been very frustrated with his therapy and with their inability to communicate with each other. Phil had been a very social person, and he could no longer participate in his favorite social activities because he had a form of aphasia. phil2 Phil spoke fluently, but only 2% of what he said made any sense.
