PHYS 103 SHORT ANSWER RESPONSE ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS OVERVIEW For the Short Answer Response: Kinematics Assignment and the Short Answer Response: Newton's Law Assignment, you will reflect on what has been learned in this course by answering several physics related questions. You need to submit each of the responses during the appropriate module. INSTRUCTIONS These assignments are open-book, but you should not search for answers to these questions online. In addition to the short answer questions, you will also be asked to solve physics related problems based upon the course Learn material covered up to this point in the course. Short Answer Response: Kinematics Assignment The laboratory exercise for this chapter addresses kinematic motion. You have experienced these motions in everyday life. Instead of a discussion requiring posts in a thread, this assignment has been modified to accept your response to the following questions in this assignment. Be sure to clearly address each of the points below and show all of your work. What is the difference between acceleration and velocity? Show the kinematic equation for an object in free-fall. Be sure to define each of the variables. Write the original due date of this assignment for this term: Month and Day (For example, July 15 would be Month - 7, Day = 15) For a building having a height equal to the twice the quantity you have recorded for Day in meters (in our example of July 15, this would be 2x15 = 30 meters), compute the time required for the ball to fall to the ground while experiencing acceleration due to gravity (g=9.8m/s2). Show all work. How fast was the ball traveling when it hit the ground? Show your work. Short Answer Response: Newton's Law Assignment Write Newton's 2nd law of motion. . Write the equation for centripetal force. Write the Month and Day of the Assignment Due Date. For example, if the assignment is due on July 15th, then Month=7, Day=15. For an object having a mass of 10 times the day given in the previous section (for our example of July 15th, the mass would be 10x15=150kg), calculate the weight of the object on the moon assuming acceleration due to gravity on the moon is 1.6 m/s' Show all your work. Find an example of a physical force from within the New Testament and discuss the example. Be sure to provide the scripture reference. Physical force means an event that occurred during biblical times, not a spiritual force. Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool
