Physics 236 Lab in RL circuits: How much time does it take current to stabilize in a DC circuit? In this activity you will compare the analytic model we derived in class for RL circuits to real data taken for five different circuits. The basic circuit is a single loop with an inductor, resistor, and DC voltage source. However, the inductor has an internal resistance. The circuit diagram is: L Rinductor + switch Five variations of this circuit are shown below. The two clips lead to the DC voltage source. The resistors have black/brown stripes and are all identical. The inductor is the blue cylinder. Case A Case B Case C Case D Case E To look at theses five data sets, open the file LabLRData.xIsx. You will see a plot with five colored curves (current data) and one black curve (model). The model parameters are all correct except for the unknown resistance R. Questions: 1. Which run goes with which Case? Defend your answers. 2. What are the time constants for the different cases? (extra credit: what is the maximum possible inductance in Case A (Hint: you'll need to look at the time difference between two subsequent data points)). 3. How well does the model fit the data? Are there any aspects about the data that the model does not capture
