4. Dichlorobenzene (DCB) is leaking into the groundwater from an underground storage tank at a dry cleaning shop. A groundwater treatment well is placed 133m from the shop to try to pump out the contaminated water. Assume there are no other wells nearby that are pumping water. The hydraulic head is 54m at the location of the leak and 48m at the well. The aquifer has a porosity of 32%. The retardation factor of DCB is 9.2. It takes 235 days for the DCB to travel from the leaky storage tank to the treatment well. a. Determine the velocity of the DCB, the linear velocity of the groundwater, and the Darcy velocity. Report all velocities in units of m/ day. b. Estimate the hydraulic conductivity ( m/ day) of the aquifer. c. An environmental consulting company proposes to inject surfactant into the aquifer, which reduces the adsorption of the DCB onto the solids in the aquifer. Would it take more time or less time for the DCB to arrive at the treatment well? Explain your answer. What parameter in the problem would change, and would it increase or decrease
