1- Find five (5) rental advertisements that appeal to you in your community that also meet your needs as identified in activity 2. If you are happy with the ones that you found in activity 2, you may use them. It is possible that it may be a multiple bedroom house near the college/university that you wish to attend. This means that you can divide the rent by the number of bedrooms and assume that you will have roommates. For example a house for rent, 5 bedrooms, $1500 inclusive means that rent per person will be $300 per month.

2. Record the monthly rent. At least two of your advertisements should include utilities.

3. Research an approximate monthly cost for the hydro and gas bill. At least two of your advertisements should not include utilities

. 4. Research how much phone, cable, and Internet will cost monthly. You can ask your parents, look on the Rogers/Bell website, etc. Keep in mind that if you have roommates you can also divide your bills by the number of roommates in the rental.

5. Determine the total monthly living cost for the accommodation using a chart similar to the one below. Assume that each bedroom in the unit will be rented and costs shared on that basis. So if two people shared the accommodation, the cost would be split 50/50. If four people shared the accommodation, the cost would be split 25% each.

6-write a brief paragraph stating which of the rental accommodations you think is the best option for you to live in and explain why be explicit in your reasoning
