Time Management Workshop 13-4 Time Management Workshop You are required to complete the following assignment for this learning plan. Unit 13 - Time Management Workshop Welcome to the Time Management Workshop. Conduct an Internet search on key words "time management." Unit 13 explains how changing your life from a "have-to" basis to a "want-to" basis puts you in charge of what you want. Often, goals such as time management, better study habits, and test-taking skills are goals that are on a "have-to" basis. You learned in this unit how your creative subconscious can keep you from reaching your goals - even when you "try hard\" and "work extra hard" to make them happen. This workshop takes a different approach to getting what you want in terms of more effective use of your time, more effective study habits, and test- taking skills. We want you to take the time management, study skills, and test-taking skills and tailor make an "inside out" program for you to have and use that will increase your effectiveness. You will put your goals on a "want to," a "choose to," a "love it" basis and, as Lou stated in the video, you "attack it." With this new approach you will be able to use time more effectively. You will be able to assimilate better study and test-taking habits and skills. Nov you know that you can take the information and use it as a model for your own growth and change by following the principals set out in this course. You have all of the potential and then some to accomplish this. In this workshop, you will: receive an overview of time management and study and test-taking skills; assess your current habits; use the Internet to research articles on time management, study skills, and test-taking (a total of four articles); look at your current reality of test-taking, study skills, and time-use and then decide how you want to grow and change; write five goals in order to begin the process of changing your "have-to" goals into "want-to" goals. Time Management Time management experts agree that people must assess their present use of time in order to change. By doing this, you gain an awareness of how your time is spent. For this workshop you will chart only 24 hours to give yourself a picture of your current reality in the area of time use. Click here 2 fora 24-hour chart in order for you to keep track of your time for the next 24 hours. Once you finish this chart, keep it for the assignment portion of the workshaop. Study Skills and Test-Taking Also conduct an Internet search on note-taking skills, listening and reading, test taking and test anxiety. All of these areas can be "attacked" by assimilating new habits, attitudes, and goals around study skills and test-taking and better use of your time. As Lou stated, traditionally people tell themselves they need more self-discipline, but what they really need is to change on the inside. Internet Research One of the objectives of this course is to have you use electronic databases to conduct research. You have another opportunity to do that now. Use Internet search engines to research: time management study skills test taking test anxiety You will ind a total of four articles, which present you with the tools for change that you want to incorporate. You will use them as models or patterns of how successful people organize their time and study more effectively. Read and keep these articles along with your 24-hour time chart. The following links will provide you with direct access to electronic resources to assist you with your research: Internet Search Engines Google B Yahoo! = Answer the following questions: - Look at your 24-hour chart of how you used your time and answer the following: o |s this a typical day for you?
