A parking meter in a Canadian city accepts quarters and loonies as payment. One quarter is worth 15 minutes of parking, and the loonie is good for an hour. Every time a coin is inserted, the meter will display the time of parking equivalent to the payment received thus far. Maximum parking time is one hour, and the meter is not responsible for returning any money paid in excess, except when the payment was at least a loonie and the customer wants to park for less than 60 minutes. There is a change/return button on the meter, which can be used to reduce the time requested by 15 minutes. The meter will then give money back to the customer. The general rule is that the meter's display is topped at 60 minutes, and it will give money back from an already paid amount that is supposed to be
