It is mid-July, and we have identified that many full-time employees across the organization have not yet used or scheduled their full allotment of vacation days for the current calendar year. In order to manage staffing and operational needs, it is important that all full-time staff members be given a deadline of August 15th to schedule in our HRIS all their remaining vacation days that they have available to them until December 31st.
The memo should also remind full-time employees that in order to manage staffing needs across all programs, all vacation requests are subject to supervisor approval.
They should also be informed that in the event that someone schedules vacation time for a period far in advance that they later need to change due to unexpected circumstances, flexibility will be provided wherever possible for them to revise the dates, but that the expectation is that they do take the days that they will be scheduling, subject to supervisor approval. The memo should be sent directly from you as the HR Administrator.
