$$Events are about moments, programs are about journeys,$($forbes$.$com$).$ This article depicts that events are full of short$-$lived experiences and memories whereas programs are more of a long lived and momentous journey. I think our biggest external force is a mix between people and their values, priorities, traditions $($most of which are new based on generations$),$ and current lifestyles. We are currently in a fast paced, fully capable and adaptive world and we have to keep up in order to thrive and remain in business. There is also a new mix of marital status and income that may have an effect on the event industry as well. Afterall, what are events $($or journeys$)$ if there are no planners?

Specifically, in the next year, I think most people in this industry will still remain focused on the overall outcome, and accomplishment, of their strategically planned events. However, I think they will also keep an open mind while forming programs instead of events.

$$Events are a great place to go for quick lessons, best practices and insights. Well$-$designed programs, with more structure and an eye toward the future, can offer a road map for transformative learning, which opens the door to wildly more valuable long$-$term outcomes,$($Forbes$.$com$).$ With this said, in the next transition of mindset when it comes to the event industry is that this will not happen overnight. It will take the current and next generation to form a new outlook, viewpoint, and culture on events and how they should be managed.
