Trenton Foods, Inc. prepares canned fruits and vegetables for sale to consumers. All materials are added at the beginning of the Mixing Department's process. When the ingredients have been mixed, they go to the Cooking Department. There the mixture is heated to 212 degrees Fahrenheit and simmered for twenty minutes. When cooled, the mixture goes to the Canning Department for final processing. Throughout the operations, direct labor and factory overhead costs are incurred uniformly. No materials are added in the Cooking Department stage of production. Cost data and other information for the month of January 20X6 are attached. Assume that no spoilage occurred during the month in either department. REQUIRED: (1)Using the FIFO costing approach and the attached forms, prepare a Cost of Production Report for the Mixing Department for the month of January Round costs per equivalent unit to five decimal places and all other dollar amounts to the nearest whole dollar Using the information from (1) above, prepare the journal entry required to transfer the completed units from the Mixing Department to the Cooking Department for the month of January. Using the weighted average costing approach and the attached forms, prepare a Cost of Production Report for the Cooking Department for the month of January.
