When gas cost 1.99 gas stations are full. When gas cost 3.99 gas stations are full. When gas is 6.99 gas stations are still full of cars getting gas. Gas in our society is no doubt a necessity at this point. You can see it all around from cars, planes, and boats, all primarily use gas to power itself. These vehicles are transportation. the greatest use of gas because it is the resource that powers vehicles to get people from point A to point B the fastest. While also being the fastest method of travel, it's also one of the easiest. Our society is built around roads. Anywhere you can want to go is either connected by roads. That's why there are gas station everywhere. The industry for gas is the most reliable, efficient, and most widespread use for travel. Because of that, I believe it is a necessity in a person's life. As people need gas either way, lowering the price would give people more wiggle room for other expenses in their life, while higher prices will put people on tighter budgets. While either way, I believe that no matter what the price of gas is, people will still buy gas. I also do believe in the long mn that higher gas prices will also lead to more innovation. it gas price are higher and consumption rates will also still be relatively the same, meaning that there is more money flowing into that industry. More money creates more incentive to create competition against high gas prices. Because travel by gas is so easy, reliable, and efficient right now, there is no competition that is close. (El;Ir is still not as widely available}. But as technology advances and the market is there for it, if there is a method that is both more efficient and reliable as gas while also being cheaper than wide use of, that would start to shift as the new norm. We know from history that competition leads to innovation. Especially competition for a goal. Examples of this is like the space race vs US and the Soviet Union. If this competition is in the gas and transportation field, then the goal would be money. Money is a big driving factor of things so that is why I believe higher gas prices will lead to a better, more advanced future
