She then takes the information and uses it for identity theft to make Internet purchases. Eventually, the activity is discovered and the hard drive of the library computer is used as evidence to charge Jan. Answer: 2. Assume the same facts as in situation 1, except that the police take the USB drive while Jan is in the ladies room. Answer: 3. Assume the same facts as in situation 1, except that the police pull Jan over under the pretense of a traffic violation and take the USB device while performing a search of her car. Answer: 4.
