Measures: Quantitative- I will have at least three journal entries at the end of each day, with a minimum of 15 entries a week. Qualitative- At the end ofthe month, I will look through my journal to determine trends what brings me positivity and the cause of that positivity. From what I have learned, the following week I will try to implement those practices to be a positive leader in my team. my day. I will practice that directly expressing positivity as a leader for my team so they can so experience the support that they need from me every day to achieve results. - I am going to take the time to slow down to assess the situations I am in to calmly making decisions. By slowing down my decision making, I and reecting on not only what triggers my emotion but that I am not making decisions based on my emotions. I will be scheduling a break in between my virtual meetings every day to take time to reect and acknowledge my emotions before jumping into the next project. I will notify Janet and Marlene of this plan of action so they can help me stay accountable and support me by reminding me of taking the time to reect. Janet and I will discuss the progress of my reection during our weekly individual meeting. At the end of the month, I will look through myjournal responses to determine trends in my emotions and what triggered those emotions. At least once a month, during my individual meetings with Janet, I will share my most common emotions and the reasons for those emotions along with what I can do to continue or change those emotions after meetings. From what I have learned, the following week I will try to implement those practices to be a positive leader in my team. Measures: Quantitative- Because my workday schedule fluctuates day-to-day, I will start each morning and insure I have at least 5 minutes of reflection after or before my virtual meetings. Qualitative- During my reflections, I will respond to the following questions in a journal: "How do I feel after this meeting? Why", "What were your thoughts on the meeting topic?", "If you could change anything in that meeting what would it be and why?". At the end of the ween I will reflect on the responses and look for trends in emotions and feeling.SELF-AWARENESS My second focus is strengthening my Self-Awareness because it is imperative that l have a full understanding of my value system, leadership style, and how my words and actions will impact my followers (as I learned through the readings from Bennis). POTENTIAL OBSTACLES Emotions allowing others to affect my behaviors and reactions, based on their actions or words. Or, allowing my previous adverse interactions with certain individuals to control my emotions and behaviors. Condence remaining confident in my abilities to get the job done, reminding myself of my worth and the skillsets I bring to the organization and my division. Balance making sure to find a healthy balance (physically and mentally) with all of the competing initiatives in my life: work, school, personal time. Start each day by building a to-do list, and then based on priority of the different tasks that need to be completed, color code them accordingly so that I know where to start and how much time may be needed for each task (this is related to my obstacle of Confidence) 0 Measure: At the end of each week, I can determine if my time is being utilized effectively and where I may be impacting myself by losing confidence because I'm focusing on the wrong things or taking on too many things. Completing a to-do list is not a race, but it is important to leverage my time wisely. Purchase and keep a daily emotional journal of the instances in my day that relied heavily on or influenced my emotions (good and/or bad). The journal entries will be completed before bed and incorporate work, school, and home life relationships and interactions (this is related to my obstacles of Emotions and Balance). - Measure: At the end of each week, I can reflect upon the daily journal and determine where my opportunities are, or where I can give myself a pat on the back. This also allows me to identify how certain situations made me feel, and in looking at them later, which will allow me to see with more clarity and understand ifl made the right choice in the moment or if I was just frustrated/overreacting. If it was frustration, I will see out the person ASAP and share my concern and apologize to ensure the individual knows how much I value him/her and our relationship. To better mitigate ovenlvhelming moments where my confidence is low, or I need to bring back stability to hectic days, I will look for a bit of inspiration (i.e., story or quote) and give myself the necessary reassurance needed to remind myself of my skillset and worth to my team and the organization overall. I will also seek out my mentor \"Sue\" to share \"what happened" and discuss options (related to my obstacle of condence). . Measure: Create a schedule to ensure I'm allotting an appropriate amount of time to my various tasks. At the end of each week, I can determine if I've been effectively focusing and completing my goals, without overextending myself or causing my own stress. Myself and my mentor \"Sue" Daily: Complete a color-coded to- do list to stay organized and on schedule; keep a daily emotional journal to track positive and negative feelings Weekly: Review and reflect on the daily journals to determine if I'm managing my time wisely, while also understanding where my emotions influenced me. Using these results and findings to remind myself why I was promoted and what I'm doing well in, or where I need to improve
