A distillation column is installed to separate 7703 mol/min of binary organic mixture. Prior the binary organic mixture is fed into the distillation column, the pressure of the mixture is adjusted from 68.5 kPa to the operating pressure (101.325 kPa) of the column by using a compressor. Afterwards, it is found that at least 78.5% of the volatile compound in the binary organic mixture fed into the distillation column is separated and recovered as the overhead vapour stream. To maintain the separation efficiency of the distillation column, the overhead vapour stream is then directed into a condenser wherein the vapour is condensed by using a liquid stream. A reflux drum is used to handle the condensate before it is separated into the top product stream and reflux stream which is recycled back into the distillation column. For the liquid stream from the bottom of the distillation column, a boiler is installed to vaporize a portion of the liquid into vapour before it returns to the distillation column. Ultimately, the remaining liquid is removed from the boiler and termed as bottom product stream. Select a mixture of organic solvents as well as the vapour and liquid streams that you think they are appropriate to be used in the condenser and boiler.
