PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY CASE STUDY HOMEWORK.

CASE SCENARIO:

What makes people special is our distinctive brain that gives us higher intelligence and consciousness. We do not fully understand how these are created in humans but we have already been trying for decades to replicate these experiences through artificial intelligence. Will computers ever achieve intelligence and will it surpass that of humans (has it already)? N ovels and movies such as Blade Runner, Her and Ex Machina assume that truly intelligent machines will be sentient and will achieve artificial consciousness. Is this inevitable or impossible? A few years ago, IBM developed a supercomputer named Watson, after that companys founder, Thomas J. Watson. The computer was pitted against human contestants on Jeopardy game show. Time after time, the supercomputer gave correct responses. Ken Jennings, who described himself as the Great Carbon-Based Hope against a new generation of thinking machines, conceded defeat by writing on his video screen, I, for one, welcome our new computer overlords, paraphrasing a line from an episode of The Simpsons. This was not the rst time an IBM computer had outwitted human beings. In 1997, Gary Kasparov, the reigning chess champion of the world, conceded defeat in the sixth and decisive game against an IBM computer named Big Blue. According to the Terminator movies, the Skynet Funding Bill is passed and the system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug. Skynet fights back by launching nuclear strikes against Russia and the United States.
