An Exercise in Grophing The table below shows the density of water at various temperatures. Notice that from 100 ic to 1200C, even though the water is in the vapor state, it stll has close to its liquid density. On the accompanying graph paper grid, plot the density of water on the vertical axis and the corresponding temperature on the hotizontal axis. - Label the horizontal axis as "Temperature (EC)," and the vertical axis as "Density (g/mL)." - Start the Temperature axis at 20C, and use a scale of 10 lines =20, so that your scale ends at 150.C. Start the Density axis at 0.950g/mL, with a scale of 20 lines =0.010g/mL, so that the vertical axis ends at 1.000g/mL, with 15 squares left over. - Carefully plot the temperature-density points. Circle your data points so that they are easily seen, then connect them with a smooth, curved line. 1. The formula for density is density =whumemas-Assuming the mass stays constant, what happens to the density of a material when: a. the volume increases? b. the volume decreases? 2.
