Press Statement/Board of Directors Report. Assume you are the hospital administrator responsible for reporting to your Board of Directors (all male) and providing media releases on board decisions affecting the public interest. Your Board has just voted to prohibit your hospital from performing "any and all abortion procedures and treatment related to abortion procedures". You are responsible for making a statement to the media reporting this decision from the Board.

1. Draft your media statement including the decision and rationale of the Board.

As a result of your statement, the public outcry is overwhelmingly negative and there is protesting and boycotting happening at the hospital. A petition has been circulated to have the hospital closed down unless they lift the anti-abortion ban.

2. Draft your statement to the Board of Directors stating the facts and issues related to their decision, the public fallout, and what, if anything may be done.
