The major benefit of the BCG Matrix is that it draws attention to the cash flow, nvestment characteristics, and needs of a corporation's various divisions or jusiness units. The divisions of many firms evolve over time: Dogs become Zuestion Marks, Question Marks jecome Stars, Stars become Cash Cows, and Cash Cows become Dogs in an ongoing counterclockwise motion. Over time, organizations should strive to zchieve a portfolio of divisions that are stars. An example of a corporation's divisional data is provided in the table jelow. Figure 1 - BCG Matrix Table 1: Use the data in table 1 to: 1) Map each division in the BCG Matrix and characterize each division as one of the following: Dog, Cash Cow, Question Mark, and Stars. (3 points each for correctly placing each division in the BCG matrix +1 point for providing the correct category name for each division i.e. Dog, Star, etc.) For this question Create a BCG Matrix like the one shown in figure 1. Use the appropriate data from table 1 to construct and place each division in the BCG matrix. Then clearly answer the question by describing each division as Dog, Cash Cow, Question Mark, or Stars. 2) Suggest an action that the CEO of the corporation should take for each division. Why?
