Grade Question 1 (50%) A company stores product in three regional warehouses (A, B and C). See the table below for current service level and forecast error. Assume demand is equal at each warehouse. a) What is the total safety stock required with the current arrangement, using three warehouses? b) Estimate the percentage reduction in safety stock which can be achieved if the three existing warehouses are consolidated into one central warehouse, while maintaining the same service level. Note: Use the following formula to determine forecast error at the centralized location. Centralizedforecasterror:=(A2+i2+c2) Question 2 (50%) Deliveries are planned from Depot location (D) to customer locations A, B, and C. The table below provides travel time (in hours) between locations. Use the Time-Saved Heuristic to recommend a route that minimizes total travel time. Determine the route and time for one truck to start at D, visit all three locations, and return to D. Note: An Excel template is provided with the assignment. Solution must demonstrate the Time-Saved Heuristic steps demonstrated in class and depicted in Figures 15.12 - 15.14
