Recently, several of your employees requested that their spouses or friends be allowed to participate in your company's intramural sports teams. Over 100 employees currently participate in the eight coed volleyball, softball, and tennis teams, which are open to company employees only. The teams were designed to improve employee friendships and give employees a regular occasion to have fun together. If nonemployees were to participate, you are concerned that employee interaction would be limited. While some team members might have fun if spouses or friends were included, you are not so sure all employees would enjoy this change. You are not interested in turning your company's intramural sports program into a "date night." Furthermore, the company would be required to create additional teams if many nonemployees joined, and you cannot afford the additional costs. You do understand the need for social time with friends and families: however, guests are welcome only as spectators at this time. Write a memo to the staff denying the request of several employees to include nonemployees on the intramural sports teams
