For this project scope: The Pine Park community is committed to being prepared for any upcoming storm or flash flood during the 2023-2024 season. To help achieve this goal, we have created a project charter statement called Ready, Set, ACTIVE! This $6,000 project will take place across four Saturdays from November 18th to December 16th and includes community awareness training workshops and educational tools on how best to prepare for storms or floods. The main objective of this initiative is to minimize the potential damage caused by natural disasters in the Pine Park neighborhood. Tasks involved include gathering supplies such as garbage bags and gloves; organizing volunteers for clean-up efforts; creating signs ahead of time so that people can adequately prepare their properties; distributing information about available resources such as emergency shelters or food banks; providing guidance on how residents can protect themselves before a storm hits; offering assistance with home repairs after a disaster occurs. With these activities in place, we hope that members of the Pine Park community will be better equipped with the knowledge necessary should they face any future storms or floods during this upcoming season.
