In that correspondence, the student wrote, in relevant part, "I am associated with California State University, Long Beach and I am inquiring whether their may be a discount for the following studying aide..." The publisher through further inquiry found out that the student is a student and not an employee or faculty member of California State University, Long Beach and believed/made the accusation that the student was attempting to commit fraud by passing herself off as an employee or faculty member of California State University, Long Beach. Central Publishing Incorporated contacted the local district attorney's office where California State University, Long Beach is located. This student is now being accused of violating A.R.S. 18-542.
