August 23rd Ms. Mary Colter-Canyon: "...and yes, could you tell me about your physical address for my appointment with Mr. Thunder on August 27th please?" Anne Sophie: "Mr. Thunder's law office address is located at 1107 Arizona Ave., Parker, AZ 85344." Ms. Mary Colter-Canyon: "Thank you very much! I will plan on seeing you on the 27th!" August 27th Mr. Thunder: "...Mary, I believe we may have a decent case against your employer for wrongful, discriminatory termination of your employment. For my notes, can you please confirm the address for your former employer a second time?" Mary-Colter-Canyon: "Thank you for believing in my case Mr. Canyon. I'm relieved someone is believing in me after a lot of negativity from people around me. The address is KB Enterprises, 5703 West Adams Street, Parker, AZ 85344." Mr. Thunder: "Well, they'll be some steps that we'll need to take; a filing of a complaint, depositions, discovery, etc. I'm going to send Anne back in to talk to you about fees associated with representing you. Remember that you are not required to retain my services, and if you have questions about the fees please let Anne know." Mary Colter-Canyon: "Thank you Mr. Thunder, I'll be sure to let you know if I have questions." Anne Sophie: "Ms. Colter-Canyon, in order to engage our services, there is an initial payment of $350 for retention of services, and then Mr. Thunder would receive a fee of 15% of your total recovery should we obtain a settlement or judgment against your employer. There will also be a bi-weekly billing of $150 for basic services involved with your case, such as filing fees, copies, etc. I will forward you an e-mail to you reviewing these items. Should you have questions, please let me know." Mary Colter-Canyon: "It is a little confusing, but I think I'm good for now. I'll just look over your e-mail when I receive it and let you know if I'm going to pay Mr. Thunder to represent me." Anne Sophie: "Okay, no problem. One more thing; what is your mailing address so I can add it to your file?" Mary Colter-Canyon: "I live at 233 South Maple Street, Parker, AZ 85344." LL. I'll send you an e-mail with a word doc attachment noting our discussion and the fees for services. Enjoy a good day!" October 23rd Anne Sophie: "Hi Mary, I hope things have been going good for you. We wanted to give you a quick call to confirm one minor discrepancy in our notes concerning your former boss's deposition at our office on November 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Your old boss is Gary Allen Jr., not Sr. correct?" Mary Colter-Canyon: "Yes, that is right. The reason why this is confusing is Gary's dad works in the machine shop on a part- time basis for his son, but Gary Jr. was my old boss." Anne Sophie: "Okay, got it. One more thing; we changed telephone providers for our main office line. Our new office line is (928) 669-1247. So that is why you may not have recognized my earlier call. I'll send you an e-mail with that information later today." Mary Colter-Canyon: "Okay. Sounds good. Talk with you later!" 2023. Grand Canyon University. All Rights ReservedStep by Step Solution
