The current Allen Fieldhouse only holds 16,300 and due to the increased popularity of the KU basketball team, our goals is to construct an arena that accommodates 21,000 fans, so more followers of the team have the opportunity to attend games. It must be built to meet the safety needs and structural requirements of KU and local building codes.

Scope / Deliverables / Performance Criteria / Priorities

- Inclusions: designing, constructing, and furnishing a new and large Allen Fieldhouse; new arena should seat 21,000 spectators,; building new arena within specified timeline; working within budget ($9,000,000); meeting all applicable building codes and regulations; obtaining all necessary permits; testing and inspection of all work

- Exclusions: maintenance and upkeep of the facility post completion; any additional cost of materials or labor outside of original budget; any additional costs associated with obtaining permits

- Deliverables: design drawings; constructed facility; furniture; inspections and tests; permits

- Characteristics: design drawings should include accurate measurements and specifications for the construction of the new facility; should be structurally sound and able to meet the needs of KU; furniture should be of high quality materials and be able to withstand the wear and tear of thousands of spectators; inspections and tests should be conducted by a licensed inspector to ensure safety of the facility; permits should be obtained from the relevant governing body and should meet all applicable regulations
